Hand's On Algebra & The Language of Algebra Students use algebra to solve problems
Byrdseed TV's Factor Scramble Students will work with large numbers, prime factorizations, and a letter table to decode numbers into words. Byrdseed TV's Disneyland Parking Students will estimate the number of parking spots in Disneyland's parking structure and then calculate how much money the structure brings in each year. Marcy Cook's Double Number Tiles Place Value with Larger Numbers Addition/Subtraction Tiles A Challenging twist to multi-digit addition and subtraction Buyers Beware Students analyze marketing strategies used by grocery stores. Using multiplication & division, students determine "best buys". Soda Can Fun Students analyze soda can holiday display designs to estimate and compute the number of cases/cans in a display as well as determine the value of the display--adapted from Yummy Math |
